But drums were always on his mind, and he made the switch in high school. Early lessons led to jamming with friends, and the formation of several local bands. After playing all over metro Detroit with Bad JuJu, he joined Scoot Magoo, a group of exceptional musicians who succeeded in bring danceable music to a mixture of high profile gigs at local clubs, private parties and corporate events. He continued that tradition with The Yesmen, gigging around the local Michigan scene, bringing his energetic beats, groove and feel to any room he played. Matt’s influences revolve around drummers like Greg Bissonette, Alex Van Halen, Peter Criss, Scott Rockenfield, Mike Portnoy, Matt Cameron, Mike Mangini, and many more! As a founding member and De facto band leader of Bad Trixie, Matt and his fellow members bring not only experienced, high quality musical performance to the stage, but an electrifying and explosive fully integrated show that will inspire crowds everywhere to get up and dance.
